My STORY

'Be my Date' all began with my love affair for dates and well, I guess all things sweet.

Growing up as a child in the Country town of Taree, my fondest memories were my mother and I baking anything with dates, from sticky date pudding, to banana and date cakes, to eating fresh dates by the bucket load!

I was fortunate enough to grow up in a Mediterranean culture and be exposed to middle eastern flavours which were all incorporated into my mothers delicious homemade cooking. This embedded wonderful memories of smell, flavour and experience, which always seemed to take me to another place, somewhere happy!

As I grew into my teenage years, being a ballet dancer and swimmer, you could say my obsession for dates grew stronger as I reaped the nourishing effect this wholesome and satisfying treat had on my active body.

I began to experiment with flavours and textures using dates as my basis and began filling the dates with beautiful ingredients and then coating them in premium chocolate hoping to create the perfect balance of a wholesome dessert and treat all in one...... I call it 'The ultimate Date Explosion' being nothing short of succulent in satisfying your taste buds.

The moment someone would try my filled chocolate dates, they wouldn't want to share, it would be theirs and only theirs! This made me feel extremely proud and happy knowing that people loved them and that my idea was possibly the beginning of a new era 'The date craze'! From there the business 'Be my Date' was officially born. 

Being a mother of two gorgeous girls and coming from a strong fashion buyer and retail managerial background, I knew along with my creative style and entrepreneurial skills, that now was as good a time as ever to fulfil my passion for 'Be my Date' and blossom my inspiration and visions to create the most divine filled chocolate dates, with a rustic feel and handcrafted to your desire.

Each mouth watering chocolate coated date consists of rich in quality ingredients creating the perfect combination of flavour and luxury, all in one delicious dessert.

'Be my date' caters for all occasions including engagements, birthday parties, christenings, party favours, wedding bonbonniere, Valentine's day, Easter, Christmas, Ramadan or just because you're like me and must devour one every night with a cup of T2 'white rose' tea or a glass of Red!
